It was still fairly early, but Piper had already been awake for nearly an hour. She'd slipped out of bed, carefully so that she didn't disturb her husband, Leo and came downstairs to start breakfast. She had the coffee maker turned on and already the scent of freshly brewed coffee was filling the air, mingling with the smell of the bacon frying in the skillet. In the pan next to it she was working on making french toast, dipping the bread in raw egg and then laying it gently in the hot fry pan. On the counter by the sink there was a bowl full of cut up cantelope. If she didn't make sure to include fruit and vegetables in her cooking, she highly doubted that her children would eat as heathly as they did, then again, it's not like she had done any better when she was their age.
Turning her attention back to the bacon and frying toast in front of her she frowned. She kept having the strangest feeling since she had woken. She couldn't help feeling like something bad would happen, something bad and she couldn't seem to shake it. Perhaps it was just her worrying over nothing. Things had been calm lately, perhaps a little too calm... Piper attempted to push those thoughts from her mind as she removed the cooked bacon from the skillet and drained the grease, but it wasn't easy to forget such a nagging feeling. It was the reason for the large breakfast this morning. Ever since her potion making days were over, or at least cut back, she'd turned back to cooking as a way of keeping her hands busy when she was worried or just needed to think. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to be working this morning.
Hearing the floor creak above her she smiled. The rest of her family was waking up, or at least was starting to. Perhaps they were smelling breakfast cooking and would be coming downstairs soon. She hoped so. She would hate to see all of this food go to waste. As she finished the last piece of french toast she looked in the fridge to see what she had that she could toss in some omlettes. She smiled as she grabbed green pepper, onion and cheese from the fridge before setting to work on making omlettes. She began chopping the pepper and onion when someone else appeared before her in the kitchen. She jumped when she saw them, not having heard them approaching. She smiled before speaking with her the dry sarcasm that her family had come to know and love. "Keep that up and you'll give me a heartattack."
